Luke Samuel was born at 31.4 weeks as a premature baby. Just 4 pounds and 15 inches long at birth, Luke is such a blessing for Brian & Elisabeth. Dealing with a miscarriage, extended stay in the hospital, and a premature birth is not easy, but Elisabeth was able to have the comfort of a great staff and family to help her through.

What was your experience with Women's Care of the Bluegrass?
Originally referred by a friend to Women’s Care of the Bluegrass, Elisabeth has her own unique story of her health. She relates her experience with Women’s Care of the Bluegrass to her own family.
How was your pregnancy experience?
Elisabeth experienced a high risk pregnancy with a 3.5 week stay in the hospital and daily ultrasounds leading up to the birth of her son. Listen to how her provider took care of her during the entire process that resulted in such a beautiful family.
What was your perception of being in the NICU with your son?
Hear Elisabeth’s take on what it is like to have your first child be born into the NICU. After 9 days of just looking at him, Luke’s parents were finally able to hold him because of the care he received.
What is your experience with miscarriage?
Elisabeth experienced a very unfortunate circumstance leading into her pregnancy with Luke. Throughout her miscarriage, she was able to utilize Women’s Care of the Bluegrass midwives over the phone and face to face to get her questions answered and help her through it all.
How was your experience in the hospital?
A lengthy stay in the hospital can make life very difficult. With a great support network, husband, and comforts from home, Elisabeth was able to make the most of her stay. The nurturing staff and relationships she built in the hospital helped Elisabeth get through the process.
What was is like to go back to work after delivery?
Life changes after having a child. You get used to providing everything for your baby, and then you have to go back to work. Listen as Elisabeth discusses how her overall mental health was helped by going back to work.
What is some advice that you have for being a new mom and dad?
Life is different as a parent. Even though Luke is just 5 months old, the Peach family now has invaluable experience on how to get through those first few months and what to look forward to.
How has your experience been since the birth?
